Restless

Sometimes
in the normal
ordinary
routine of life,
there arises
from deep within
a restlessness.

My heart catches
the haunting sound
of music
from another realm.

The song
my Lover sings
for me.

It beckons me
drawing me in,
I am captivated.

Turning away
from the visible,
I close my eyes
and glimpse
His unseen smile.

You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you. - Augustine

Anglea, you've woven pure beauty with your words about our souls' desire for Him Who made us. I could feel every word. You've expressed my heart perfectly.

I emailed this post to myself so I can keep what you've written.

This goes to and comes from the depths of me. Thank you for these words.

This reminds of of the psalm that says something like, "My beloved is mine and His desire is for me."

You have a beautiful way with words.

Yes, I agree with the comment you left me. God's grace is the only way to freedom. telling each other to try harder only sets us up for a cycle of failures. I used to live that way. I now see the beauty in trusting vs trying!
